Ayurveda says all parts of the banana tree have unique healing properties. Banana leaves, stem, flower, and fruits have separate medicinal benefits. Making a soup with the stem of banana is beneficial for weight loss. The tender inner part of the stem can be used to make soup.

The remedy

Take a small piece of banana stem. Banana stem is very fibrous and so it is very important to clean the fibre yarn properly. After removing the fibre yarn, chop the stem into small pieces.

Take one small onion, 2 garlic pods. Peel and chop them.

Crush black pepper and cumin seeds. Take one teaspoon of sesame oil in pan.

Saute all the ingredients in oil and add 250 ml water. Boil all the ingredients in medium flame for five minutes. Switch off the flame and strain the soup. Add little salt for taste, garnish with coriander leaves and consume.

Banana stem soup for weight loss – DIY

  • Small piece Banana stem
  • 4-5 Black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 Garlic pods
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 250 ml Water
  • Salt ((as required))
  • Coriander leaves ((as required))
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  1. To make this soup, use banana stem, small onion, garlic pods, black peeper, cumin seeds, sesame oil, salt and water.
  2. Add 4 to 5 black pepper to mortar.
  3. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
  4. Crush the ingredients well.
  5. Cut and remove excess fibre from banana stem and chop them.
  6. Peel and chop small onions and garlic pods.
  7. Add one teaspoon of sesame oil to pan.
  8. Add chopped onions and garlic pods.
  9. Add crushed ingredients.
  10. Saute for a minute.
  11. Add 250 ml water to pan.
  12. Add chopped banana stem to water.
  13. Boil the ingredients in medium flame for five minutes.
  14. Cool down and strain the soup.
  15. If you want, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  16. Mix it well.
  17. Banana stem soup is done.

Consume this soup thrice in a week to lose weight.
