Betel leaf remedy for headache

It is a common practice to consume betel leaves along with edible lime and betel nuts after a meal for better digestion. In addition, the properties of betel leaves is used as a remedy for cough, common cold and certain respiratory disorders. This DIY shows how to use betel leaf as a remedy for headache.

Betel leaf remedy to cure headaches – DIY

Betel leaves and camphor can both reduce headache and common cold.

  • 1 Betel leaf (Known as Vetrilai in Tamil)
  • 1 piece Camphor
  1. Take one fresh betel leaf and wash it.
  2. Tear the leaf into small pieces and place in a mortar.
  3. Pour a little water to make crushing easy.
  4. Crush well with a pestle.
  5. Crush a small piece of camphor and add the powder to the crushed betel leaf paste.
  6. Crush once again with a pestle.
  7. Squeeze this paste with your hands to get the extract.
  8. Apply this extract on the areas where you feel pain.

This remedy has no side effects.

You can store the extract for a day and use it 4 – 5 times a day to get relief from headache.
