Tomato to cure sunburn

Scientists have found through research that tomatoes have the power to protect our skin from harmful rays which are emitted by sun. They are very helpful when you have a sunburn. Tomato contains Lycopene, that gives the red color to it. This particular compound helps cure sunburn and protect our skin from cell damage. This also works as a UV block when used on a regular basis.

Now let us see how to use tomato to treat sunburn through a simple DIY method.

DIY – Tomato to cure Sunburn

  • 1 full Tomato ((red))
  • 50 ml Buttermilk ((Diluted curd/yogurt))
  1. To cure Sunburn, all you need is one ripe tomato and a cup of buttermilk.
  2. Cut tomato into thin slices.
  3. Now, place the slices in buttermilk. Make sure that the slices are completely immersed.
  4. Let the slices soak in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
  5. Once it is soaked, remove the slices from buttermilk. Rub those slices on the affected area in gentle circular motion.
  6. Let it stay on your skin for a minimum of 15 minutes. Do not rinse off immediately.

Tomato can be used many times a day on the affected area. You can also try consuming tomato along with your regular diet to protect your skin from further damage.
