remedy for Infant colic

Tulsi is an ancient remedy for indigestion. Cumin seeds or Jeera also work wonders and appease the digestive system to cure colic and reduce flatulence. This remedy is suitable for babies and the composition of the ingredients is used to suit a baby’s tender digestive system that can reduce infant colic symptoms.

You can give this preparation to your baby 20 minutes to half hour after milk / food.

DIY – Holy basil (Tulsi) and cumin remedy for Infant colic

  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds (Known as Jeera in Hindi)
  • 3 Holy Basil leaves (Known as Tulsi in India)
  1. You will need just two ingredients to make this herbal preparation – Cumin seeds (Jeera) and Holy Basil (Tulsi) leaves.
  2. Take a tablespoon of cumin seeds and three leaves of Tulsi on a grinding stone.
  3. Pour boiled water on the seeds to grind them.
  4. Start grinding them into a smooth paste.
  5. Keep grinding for about 8 – 10 minutes till you have this paste.
  6. Gather the paste with clean hands and squeeze it into a small container. You will get a concentrated extract.
  7. Add warm water to this extract and dilute it.
  8. Give this preparation to your infant to cure colic and its symptoms.

This remedy can be given to babies which are 3 months or older of age. It is a harmless remedy and can give your baby instant relief from colic, flatulence and stomach problems.

Nursing mothers can consume Jeera water to reduce the probability of infant colic.
