Here is a simple routine to follow on a daily basis for healthy weight loss. This is easy to incorporate into your schedule and can help you lose weight by burning fat and flushing out toxins. A healthy mix of diet and exercise to keep you active through the day is suggested.

Oil pulling

Oil pulling has great benefits for weight loss. Every morning after brushing your teeth, pour a tablespoon of sesame oil or virgin coconut oil in your mouth. Squish for twenty minutes till the oil becomes thin, white and watery. Spit out after twenty minutes and wash your mouth with a mild mouthwash. This treatment not only aids in weight loss by burning fat and removing toxins but also cures ailments such as arthritis and gum problems. You have two options for the morning empty stomach drink:

Honey, lemon and warm water

  1. Add one teaspoon of honey in 200 ml of warm water.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Every morning, drink this on an empty stomach.
  4. The great thing about this is that since honey is suitable for everyone, even people with cholesterol or heart condition, can try this treatment. I’ve personally seen a person loose up to 4 kg in 6 months with only this treatment and no exercise. While I wouldn’t advise that, it sure gives us hope, doesn’t it?!
  5. If this is not suitable for you, try the below.

Hot lemon juice

Lemon has the characteristic to improve metabolism and flush out toxins. Lemon juice also keep you fresh through the day. Cinnamon is rich in nutrition and aids in weight loss too.

  1. Boil some water. (200 – 300 ml)
  2. Allow it to become little warm and drinkable.
  3. Squeeze half a lemon in the water.
  4. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder.
  5. Mix and drink on an empty stomach.

Morning detox smoothie

Skipping breakfast is an unhealthy way to lose weight. Eat breakfast but eat healthy. A morning smoothie made of celery stalks, apple, cumin seeds and buttermilk is a great way to start your day. Drink this smoothie post workout. It will give you the required energy to start your day. But this smoothie with not be enough the break the fast and keep you hunger free till lunch. You may be tempted to nibble on something over the course of mid-morning. To avoid that, head over to the below section.

Horse gram is a nutritious grain. Extremely rich in protein, carbs, calcium and phosphorous. Along with supplying lot of nutrition, it also burns fat in a very healthy manner. Horse gram porridge powder is available in herbal stores. This can be used for breakfast.

Drink lots of water

Drink lots of water in the morning whenever you find time. Ensure you drink at least three liters of water over the course of the day. This is the best way to flush out toxins.

Suryanamaskar

Make it a practice to workout for a minimum of 20 minutes each day. Yoga is a healthy exercise. 12 rounds of suryanamaskar will be a good workout. Get trained by a good yoga practitioner and then follow it regularly at home. Take your porridge one hour after yoga.

Other tips:

  1. Aloe vera juice can be included in your diet a few times a week.
  2. Cut down on sugars as much as possible.
  3. Eat protein in the form of paneer or cottage cheese and other natural whey protein options.
  4. Take the stairs instead of the lift.
  5. Cut down on smoking.
  6. Sleep early and wake up early – you need time for workout!
