The high amounts of Vitamin C  present in grapes makes it a great choice to improve the immunity system. In addition, the juice of grapes in enriched with anti-oxidants and this helps to fight free radicals in turn leading to preventing a large number of diseases.

Can diabetics drink grape juice?

Grapes are sweet – grape juice is sweeter – so the inference is that it contains larger quantity of sugars and this makes it not friendly for diabetics. But is this true??

The glycemic index of grape juice is 9 and this is still good enough for diabetics to consume since it only contains natural sugars. However, any juice for that matter is not the best option for those with diabetes. The best way would be to chew and eat the fruits instead of consuming the juice since juices cause a spike in the sugar level. Once in a while is not harmful though.

The benefit here is that grapes contain chromium and it has been proven that chromium can actually reduce blood sugar levels and reduce cravings for carbohydrates!

To relieve from constipation

Grapes are known to be a very good laxative and can help to relieve you from constipation. Drink a glass of thick grape juice before you go to bed and the next morning you will have a better bowel movement.


Grapes also be used for babies not as a juice but by following the below method:

  1. Soak dry grapes in warm water.
  2. Leave it to soak for about an hour.
  3. Squeeze well to get the extract.
  4. Give 5-6 teaspoons of this juice to your little one and it will cure your baby’s constipation.

To reduce acne

Around 150 ml of strained grape juice daily can help to clear acne slowly. A blend of carrot and grape juice is better than just grape juice since this blend is better to clear up your skin and reduce acne.

You can also squeeze a little lemon into the grape juice and this clears up the acne well. This juice is also good to reduce stress levels and to fight depression. Stress is another major cause of acne and the grape lemon blend can reduce acne by addressing its root cause.

Grape juice during  pregnancy

Grape juice can be consumed during pregnancy without any side effects but in moderation. The nutrition in grape juice is good for the growth of the baby and can be a good addition to your pregnancy diet.

A glass of juice a week would be the ideal quantity to consume.

Grapes are a healthy food for kids. You can give your kids (above 4 years) a glass of grape juice twice a week for overall good health. Do find out if your kid is allergic to grapes before giving him / her juice.

Just blend some black grapes in a blender and drink the juice. Grape is seen to have properties that cure amenorrhoea. Do not add sugar since sugar would add unwanted calories.

You can also make a juice by blending one carrot and a bunch of grapes together – both these have properties that regulate the hormone levels and over a period can regulate menstrual cycles.
