Walnuts are nuts that are from a tree that grows abundantly in the Himalayan region in India. The tree traces its origin back to Persia and now grows in a few countries around the world. Parts of Northern India, Nepal, Tibet and Afghanistan are some of the key producers of walnuts. It is used in various cuisines for its nutty flavor and for its multiple health benefits.

Walnuts contain good amounts of folate, Omega 3 EFA (Essential Fatty Acids), Alpha linolenic acid, manganese, copper and biotin. Walnuts also contain good amounts of magnesium and dietary fiber. Although they do contain saturated fats, they are still excellent for even those on diet since Omega 3 EFAs are great for boosting overall health and immunity.

To flush out intestinal worms

Black walnuts are most effective in flushing out parasites/worms and toxins from the body. They also have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. A tincture made with black walnuts are suggested by medical practitioners to flush out worms from the intestine. The dosage of the tincture should be based on the medical advice given.

These black walnuts can also help to cure the symptoms of candida (a yeast infection). While generally anti-biotics are suggested to cure this condition, walnuts can help a great deal due to the presence of astringent tannins in them.

To cure Eczema and skin disorders

Traditionally walnut extract has been used to cure a variety of skin disorders including eczema. Steps to make a walnut paste to cure eczema:

  1. Take 5-7 walnuts.
  2. Now take a teaspoon of warm coconut oil.
  3. Take a drop of chamomile essential oil.
  4. Blend all the three ingredients together.
  5. Blend till you get a smooth paste.
  6. Apply on the affected areas regularly.

Overnight application regularly for a few months can gradually cure eczema.

To treat tuberculosis

Walnut has been known to be a good remedy for treating tuberculosis.

Steps:

  1. Take 2-3 walnuts, 2 cloves of garlic and 4-5 leaves of Tulsi (Holy Basil).
  2. Crush the three ingredients together.
  3. Consume 2 teaspoons full of this paste regularly to cure Tuberculosis.

For those with tuberculosis, mint, banana and pineapple can also be useful for natural healing.
