Turmeric milk

Golden milk or Turmeric milk is a traditional cure for cold and cough. It has been used for the same purpose for adults and children since ancient times. It is a simple drink made with milk by adding turmeric and black pepper to it.

In addition, turmeric has various health benefits – it has antioxidants and fights infections, it is anti-inflammatory, can soothe the stomach and treat stomach related problems and can even fight cancer. All this makes golden milk a truly all rounded health drink. Although turmeric (Curcuma longa) requires no evidence to support its benefits, here are some listed.

How to make Golden Turmeric Milk – DIY

  • 1 teaspoon Dry Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • Jaggery ((optional))
  • 100 ml Milk
  1. Keep the ingredients handy before you start preparing the milk.
  2. Heat the milk until it becomes warm enough to drink.
  3. Add 1 spoon of dry turmeric powder to warm milk.
  4. Once turmeric is added, add 1 spoon of black pepper powder to the milk.
  5. This step is optional. You can add required amount of jaggery to the warm milk to add sweet taste.
  6. Stir the milk so that the ingredients blend with it.
  7. Once mixed, your turmeric milk should look like this.
  8. You warm golden turmeric milk is ready!

Turmeric milk or Golden milk can be consumed during night, right before going to bed. To find relief, consume this milk continuously for 1 week. You can consume this milk even after you get rid of cough and cold. It reduces of chances of recurrence.

    Congrats to the mother’s team for such a wonderful website. Once you become a mother you think twice or thrice before giving any kind of medicine to your child.
