Sesame seeds to treat chapped lips

Cracked or chapped lips are a common problem caused by unhealthy habits such as excessive licking of lips, poor diet, smoking and drinking, or skin irritants in tooth paste, dehydration, vitamin deficiency(1), sun exposure, harsh weather, allergies or by certain medications. But here is the simple home remedy to treat chapped lips.

The remedy

Take one teaspoon of sesame seeds and two teaspoons of milk. Soak sesame seeds in milk for half an hour. Place sesame seeds in a grinding stone. Grind well and make paste. Apply this paste on the lips and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash off with water. Repeat twice a day to treat chapped lips.

How to treat chapped lips with sesame seeds – DIY

  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Milk
  1. To make the paste, use sesame seeds and milk.
  2. Take one teaspoon of black sesame seeds.
  3. Add two teaspoons of cow’s milk to the seeds. You can also use breast milk.
  4. Soak the seeds in milk for 5 – 10 minutes.
  5. Take out the seeds and place on a grinding stone.
  6. Grind the seeds into a paste.
  7. Paste is done.

Apply this paste few times a day to treat chapped and cracked lips.
