Take one full beetroot, peel and take it in a mixer. Grind well without adding water and get the extract. Take beetroot extract in a pan. Add coconut oil and beeswax. Wait patiently for the wax to melt completely. Boil them in low flame for 10 minutes. Transfer the hot wax into a container. Leave it overnight to allow the lip balm to set and it is ready to use.

How to make natural lip balm using beetroot – DIY

  • 1 medium Beetroot
  • Beeswax ((as required))
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut oil
  1. To make the beetroot lip balm use one medium sized beetroot, beeswax and coconut oil.
  2. Peel and chop a beetroot into small pieces.
  3. Add the chopped beetroot to blender.
  4. Blend them well without adding water.
  5. Strain the extract.
  6. Add the beetroot juice to a pan.
  7. Add beeswax as required.
  8. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil to it.
  9. Boil the ingredients in low flame for 10 minutes.
  10. Transfer the hot wax into a suitable container.
  11. Leave it overnight.
  12. Beetroot lip balm is now ready to use.

    this recipe doesn’t work for me….I followed ur instructions to the T but the beetroot juice is separated and the wax is settled on top …and its very hard and waxy like candle wax..unable to apply on lips…what did I do wrong??

    The beeswax you bought could have been denser and hence you could reduce the quantity of beeswax used. But generally, the wax and the liquid don’t separate. Even after settling and keeping overnight, the wax will be quite soft. You can try increasing the quantity of coconut oil just a bit more – or you can add half a teaspoon of clarified butter.
