5 Herbs drink

The 5 herbs used in this drink are turmeric, Holy basil (Tulsi), Ginger, garlic and curry leaves. Various studies have shown that curry leaves can lower level of Bad cholesterol in the body. They are also rich in calcium and iron making them good for overall health, skin and hair.the compound curcumin present in turmeric can reduce bad cholesterol and prevent its oxidation as well. In a 2008 study published in the Saudi Medical Journal, it was shown that ginger helped to reduce bad cholesterol levels in humans. Regular intake of ginger in daily recipes is also helpful in reducing cholesterol levels. Garlic has favourable effects on the body that includes lowering cholesterol, reducing unwanted fat in the body, improving heart health and cure for respiratory problems.

Coriander seeds

Coriander seeds have lot of health benefits that include reducing of blood sugar, better digestion, treating UTI (Urinary Tract Infections), regulating menstrual cycles and reducing blood pressure. They are also rich in Vitamins A, C, Potassium and dietary fiber. Various research studies show that coriander seeds can not only reduce bad cholesterol levels (LDL)  but can also increase the levels of good cholesterol (HDL). While leaves of coriander plant can also reduce cholesterol levels, seeds are most beneficial.

Drink 150 – 200 ml of the drink twice a day for good results. Continue at least for a month.

3C Herbal drink

Clove, cinnamon and cumin seeds, the three excellent spices can be used to reduce cholesterol levels. Cinnamon (Ceylon cinnamon is used) can reduce blood sugar, bad cholesterol and triglycerides. Cinnamon also has large amounts of calcium, dietary fiber, iron, magnesium, carbohydrates and potassium. Cloves are great for dental health. But apart from that, they improve digestion and can make you feel energetic. They contain copious amounts of calcium, iron and magnesium. Cumin seeds can improve digestion, can reduce blood pressure, cure acidity and heartburn, respiratory problems like asthma and bronchitis, and can cure various skin disorders. Together, these three spices can reduce LDL levels and improve good cholesterol.

Herbal milk

A herbal  milk made with a few commonly available spices can make for a wonderful health drink. The ingredients of this herbal preparation are milk, turmeric powder, garlic, water, and honey. Garlic has allicin,  a compound that can reduce bad cholesterol levels. Use diluted cow’s milk (Pasteurised or boiled) for this herbal preparation.
