Treat dandruff with ixora flowers

Dandruff is a condition of the scalp which creates itchy and dry skin. Many chemical products and shampoos are available in the market to treat dandruff. Regular use of anti-dandruff shampoo and chemical products can result in hair fall and thinning hair.

Here is a simple and natural anti-dandruff home remedy. Take a cup of fresh ixora flowers, 3 betel leaves and 10 to 15 holy basil leaves. Make a paste of all and boil it in coconut oil. Allow to cool and strain the oil. Regularly apply this oil on scalp and hair to get rid of dandruff.

Ixora flower is a medicinal plant that acts as an astringent, anti-diarrheal, anti-leucorrhoea, and blood purifier. The flowers are ground well and boiled in coconut oil is helpful in conditions like dandruff, eczema, scabies, pruritus, and other skin infections.

Betel leaves have anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties in it thus prevents fungal infections naturally. Betel leaves are good to treat skin disorders like allergies, itchiness, and other skin problems. The anti-septic properties of betel leaves extract, applied on skin heal wounds, cuts and infections. Also it is loaded with Polyphenols, it is used to treat inflammation such as arthritis and orchitis. Betel leaves extract boiled in coconut oil can be applied on lower back to ease the back pain. It also gives relief from swelling, muscular pain, and redness. Betel leaves are also good for oral health, protects against germs, prevents body odour, relieves headache, cough and treats respiratory system.

Holy basil is considered as one of the best herb to treat dandruff, dull hair, hair fall, dirt, and itchy scalps. Holy basil is a medicinal herb which not only cures hair problem, it is also good for fever, cold, kidney stones, heart disorder, stomach problems, children’s ailments, eye disorder, gum disorder, skin disorder, pain reliever, oral health, stress reliever and so on.

Here is the simple anti-dandruff home remedy.

How to treat dandruff with ixora flowers – DIY

  • 1 Cup Fresh ixora flowers
  • 10 to 15 Holy Basil leaves
  • 3 Betel leaves
  • 200 ml Coconut oil
  1. To make the anti-dandruff oil, use ixora flowers, betel leaves, holy basil leaves and coconut oil.
  2. Take one cup of fresh ixora flowers.
  3. Chop betel leaves and holy basil leaves.
  4. Add ixora flowers to blender.
  5. Add chopped betel and holy basil leaves.
  6. Add little water if needed.
  7. Blend well.
  8. Add 200 ml of coconut oil to pan.
  9. Add grounded paste to oil.
  10. Boil until the water content completely evaporate.
  11. Cool and strain the oil.
  12. Store in a container and use.

Instructions:

  1. Apply this oil on scalp and hair.
  2. Leave for 20 minutes.
  3. Wash off with mild shampoo.
  4. Repeat this process regularly for two weeks to clear dandruff.
