treat dandruff with onions

Dandruff is the common problem among the teenagers and adults. Dandruff can be caused due to internal or external problems or due to fungus on the scalp. Onion is the easy home remedy to clear dandruff. The mixture of small onions, poppy seeds, ajwain, black pepper paste can really do wonders on scalp and treat dandruff effectively.

Onions have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and cleansing properties that help in treating dandruff and also other fungal infections. Onions are very good in restoring lost nutrients to scalp and keep hair loss at bay. It is rich in sulphur that helps minimize breakage and thinning. Onion gives nourishment and makes the hair unsuitable to live for lice. Regular usage of onions on hair provides permanent healthy shine to hair.

Poppy seeds are good sources of calcium, zinc, magnesium and unsaturated fatty acids which all contribute to healthy hair. Applying the mixture of poppy seeds, onion, ajwain, black pepper will significantly reduce the occurrence of dandruff. It also triggers hair growth, regular use of this pack greatly stimulate hair growth.

The other ingredient – black pepper is also useful in treating dandruff. Black pepper is rich in zinc and selenium. These two are dandruff fighting minerals that clears dandruff effectively. Also it helps for new hair growth and provides strong and shiny hair.

Ajwain (Omam) is also a traditional home remedy to treat dandruff. Ajwain helps to remove head lice, knits, dirts, and dandruff from the scalp.  Ajwain also prevents premature greying hair.

Take 5 small onions, ½ tsp poppy seeds, ½ tsp ajwain, 3 to 4 black peppers, add these in to a blender. Grind and make paste, apply this mixture on the scalp and hair. Combination of these products makes a perfect natural remedy for dandruff.

How to treat dandruff with natural remedy – DIY

  • 5 Onion shallots
  • 1/2 teaspoon Poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ajwain
  • 3-4 Black pepper
  • Water ((as required))
  1. To make this paste, use small onions, poppy seeds, ajwain, black pepper and water.
  2. Peel the skin of onions.
  3. Add the onion shallots to a blender.
  4. Add half teaspoon poppy seeds. You can also soak poppy seeds for sometime before making this paste.
  5. Add half teaspoon ajwain (Omam).
  6. Add 3 to 4 black pepper.
  7. Add little water to make a fine paste.
  8. Blend well.
  9. Done.

Directions for use:

  1. Apply this paste on scalp and hair as a pack.
  2. Leave it for 30 minutes.
  3. Wash off with mild shampoo.
