Tulsi tea to build immunity

Tulsi or Holy Basil has been a revered plant due to its innumerable medicinal properties. The leaves of Tulsi can cure all respiratory problems. They can prevent diseases by building a strong immunity system. This tutorial shows how you can make a mild herbal tulsi tea with Tulsi leaves and Indian borage. This is to build a healthy immunity system in your toddler. The ages 2 – 6 are crucial in a child and these miracle leaves can come a long way in keeping your child healthy for life.


How to make Tulsi (Holy Basil) tea?

  1. Take 1 leaf of Indian borage and 5 – 6 leaves of Holy Basil. Wash them well.
  2. Tear these leaves and place in a mortar.
  3. Crush well with a pestle.
  4. They need not be ground into a paste as the crushing is only so you get a good extract of the leaves when you make the tea.
  5. Place the crushed leaves in an infuser.
  6. Pour 300 ml of boiling hot water.
  7. Close the lid and allow the leaves to steep in the hot water for 10 – 12 minutes.
  8. Strain well and remove the infuser.
  9. Pour the tea into a cup.
  10. You can give 150 ml of this mild tea to your toddler everyday with no side effects.

For those who do not have a teapot, you can use the below method to make this tea.

  1. Boil 300 ml of water in a vessel.
  2. Add crushed leaves and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Switch off and allow it to become warm.
  4. Strain and drink.
